Early people, especially origins of modern humans; analysis and interpretation of stone artifact assemblages and related contextual data; southern Africa
 
Research Experience
Fieldwork and museum studies in South Africa since 1975, including excavations at Alexandersfontein Pan, Boomplaas, Duinefontein 2 and Peers Cave. Earlier fieldwork in USA, Canada and Spain.
